Introducing Edge
Over the years women's style has taken its ups and downs through fashion. From waist-less polka dot dresses to well fitted sequin dresses. The newest and perhaps most out going fashion is the garage-glam, punk-rock style of the streets. Influenced by dark colors and camouflage patterns, this style promotes confidence and individuality. Of course, this style has been made more feminine by adding bracelets, necklaces, etc. This style is mostly worn by teenage girls, however some confident older women have definitely made a statement by trying it.
How to Wear Combat Boots
As you can see there are a lot of ways to wear combat boots. Miley Cyrus wears hers with a simple, put together outfit of jeans and shorts. While Ashlee Simpson-Wentz rocks hers with a dress. Emma Roberts, however, is styling the norm of wearing her combat boots with jeans.
Combat boots can be found in dozens of colors, and though it really does depend on your style, black combat boots are not only the most popular, but also the most flexible as they can be worn with pretty much any outfit.
A go-to guide for combat boots:
If you are shy and a little afraid to try out this new style there are 2 basic ways to start out with your boots. Your first outfit could be your boots paired with regular skinny jeans, a grey oversized shirt, and black bangles. Hair for this style should be really girly for a look that's very casual. Your second outfit might be your boots paired with shorts and a t-shirt from your favorite concert.
If your ready to take things to the next level wear your boots with bright acid washed skinny jeans in colors like red or light blue. With this, wear a cute v-neck top (make sure it matches your jeans) and a black zip-up hoodie. Two ways I would wear my hair would either be pin-straight or tied up. Whichever style you choose, consider wearing those bold feathered earrings.
Finally, this is what I would consider the most edgy-grunge look. Wear your boots with camo skinny jeans or jeggings and be sure to tuck them into your boots. Wear a solid black t-shirt (I would go for a white v-neck or black scoop t). My favorite part of this outfit would definitely be the hair! For the most sassy, confident look tie your hair up in a defined side ponytail. You could even consider curling the ends. For accessories, wear mini hooped earrings, a long necklace, and LOTS of thick, unique bracelets.
One store that I know for sure can supply all of these pieces is Forever21. The bonus? It's totally affordable!
I would say that this look is most probably for the outgoing, fearless girls out there. However, if you are a little shy about what you wear start simple with my first guide and slowly build it up. I think that if you can successfully pull off my final guide by rocking the look and feeling confident, you can most definitely rock any outfit! Good luck!
